The ladies of the Sea Trail Garden Club are primping and preparing for their annual fashion show. This year’s “Sea Breeze Chic” will be held on Tuesday, April 29, at the Sea Trail Golf Resort and Convention Center at Sunset Beach. From 10 am to 2 pm guests are invited to enjoy a delicious luncheon and showcase of the latest styles for men and women. The $50 per person tickets will include a plated lunch, cash bar, raffle, silent auction and share the wealth.

This year 10 Garden Club ladies will model clothing from local Sunset Beach boutique, Island Breeze. Evening wear and casual wear models will walk the runway presenting dashing apparel, accessories, jewelry and handbags. Island Breeze is a staple ladies clothier in the community and is open six days a week, year round, ready to dress women for any occasion, from everyday outfits to formal wedding attire.

Boutique owner, Clarice Holden, says “We are here to accommodate the community and for every reason and every season, shop Island Breeze!” Holden and her staff are excited for this fundraising event and love to be involved in ways to better the area she has served for 41 years. Four gentlemen, including the Sunset Beach Fire Chief, will also model trends from the Sea Trail Golf Pro Shop.

Proceeds from the Sea Breeze Chic fashion show will help the club contribute to their many philanthropies such as Brunswick Family Assistance, Habitat for Humanity, Hope Harbor and Lower Cape Fear Hospice, just to name a few. Last year’s showcase was able to provide scholarships to three West Brunswick High School students.

With the motto “Bloom where you are planted,” the Sea Trail Garden Club is not a regular garden club with emphasis in flowers and horticulture, but rather a group of ladies whose interest is in growing their neighborhood. Comprised of women who currently live in Sea Trail, members gather monthly for welcoming new families to the neighborhood, social events, group outings, resort beautification projects, fundraising and community support missions. On March 11, the club celebrated its 35th Anniversary.

Club fundraising chairwomen said that tickets are selling fast and this event is expected to sell out.
